Lynn Viehl’s Ten Things Writers Can Try for Free
May 14th, 2007 by DanO
Lynn Viehl is a successful writer who has published 37 novels in 5 genres. She also posts regularly on her blog, Paperback Writer. Today she lists 10 computer programs that writers can try for free, including book authoring software, a grammar helper and, the one I need the most, a program that will nag you to write. Check it out.
Thanks for the links. There were a couple on her list that I might check out once I actually have a computer again.
I find Word to be satisfactory for writing. But keeping track of files, emails and bookmarks, that’s tough.
As for nagging you to write - why do you need to be nagged? Just sit down and write what you want you write and stop your yammering about not writing. (There, that should last you a while. Just ring me up when you need another dose.)
I haven’t checked out all those links on that page yet, but I think they are mostly Windows programs and I know you’re a Mac grrl.
As for the nagging, I tend to get distracted easi –ooo shiny. What was I saying? Oh yes, it would be nice to have a reminder what I should be doing for those times I drift off into the internet doing research. Which happens. Alot.
