Advice on Disney/ABC Writing Fellowship Submission
Jun 19th, 2007 by DanO
Two weeks ago, the director of the Disney/ABC TV Writing Fellowship spoke in Los Angeles at a Screenplay Lab event. One of the writers who attended reported back on the TVWriter.com message boards with advice on the Personal Statement that is a necessary part of the submission package. They said the director is looking for a statement that explains why the opportunity is perfect for you at this junction in your career.
Another poster also reported that after the submission field is narrowed down to the top 10% of scripts, the bio and personal statements are what the program looks at to determine the Top 50. So make sure you pay as much attention to those elements as you do to the script you are submitting.
The deadline for submission is July 1st this year. More info on the fellowship can be found here.
